Former Kiwi cricketer Motz dies
Apr 30, 2007

The first New Zealand cricket bowler to take 100 test wickets has died.

Dick Motz who played 32 tests for New Zealand has passed away, aged 67.

Motz was a robust seamer in the 1960's who became the first New Zealander to reach 100 Test wickets, against England at The Oval.

He was Wisden cricketer of the year in 1966.

As a beefy lower-order slogger Motz was a dangerous customer, and made three 50s, all against England.
