Team NZ unveil new look
Apr 2, 2007

The skirts are off there is no hula or any other radical appendage as the America's Cup syndicates unveil all in Valencia.

Team New Zealand are sporting a buzzy bee on NZL84's bulb and a New Zealand flag on the NZL92.

Team boss Grant Dalton says the buzzy bee is a symbol every Kiwi can identify with.

"'It seems fitting that a simple wooden New Zealand toy should grace the bulb of a hi-tech Americas Cup class yacht."

For the first time, the Challengers and the defender has had to reveal their below-the-water look prior to the regatta starting.

One of Team New Zealand's designers Andy Claughton believes they have got the mix right.

He says they wanted more structural design, more grunt and more people with experience.

On the water and Team New Zealand has notched up a couple of wins over Alinghi in practice races in a secret hit out.
