House Rules
To keep TVNZ's social pages fun and enjoyable for everyone, we have some expectations of how you should behave on our sites. These House Rules supplement and form part of TVNZ's Terms of Use of www.tvnz.co.nz (the Site).
By using the Site, you accept and agree to abide by these House Rules and the Terms of Use. We may need to revise these House Rules from time to time by amending this page. Please review this page regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes we make as they are legally binding on you.
Respect others' privacy and keep personal information
private
Remember that these sites are a public space, so only
post things you want people to see. Never post personal details or
any personally identifiable information about you or others and
make sure you have the consent of anyone you feature in any videos
or images that you share.
Be honest
Never impersonate other people, companies or brands or
claim that someone else's work is your own. Don't lie about your
age in order to see content restricted for people older than
you.
Keep it civil and tasteful
Everyone has opinions and we want to hear them. If you
disagree with something someone has posted, keep it friendly and
keep it clean. Contributions that areunlawful, harassing,
defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, hateful, offensive,
obscene, profane, inflammatory, sexually oriented, homophobic,
racially, sexually or religiously offensive or otherwise
objectionable or unlawful is not acceptable and may be removed.
This includes inappropriate usernames and profile pictures.
If you feel that someone is commenting inappropriately, please report the person through the site's reporting procedures or by sending us a direct message to webmaster@tvnz.co.nz.
Harassment won't be tolerated
If you feel you're being harassed, we recommend you
initially ignore it - in most cases this will put an end to it. But
if it's particularly offensive or continues, report the person
through the site's reporting procedures or by sending us a direct
message to
webmaster@tvnz.co.nz
Don't break the law (including copyright!)
Don't post any videos, images or text showing or
referencing people committing illegal acts and take care not to
breach any court injunctions. Don't post any content (including
music, videos or images) that you haven't made if you don't have
express permission to use them from the copyright owner. This
includes any profile pictures - if your profile picture is of
Mickey Mouse, make sure you look extraordinarily like him and you
have explicit permission from Disney to use the image first.
No flooding, spamming or advertising
Flooding is when the same comment is posted over and over
in the same forum; spamming is the posting of the same comment (or
very similar) to more than one forum. Don't re-post the same
message, or very similar messages, more than once. This is not the
place to promote your own business or related interests so please
don't post any advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, junk
mail or other forms of commercial solicitation. Keep comments and
links relevant - any links to pornography, commercial or other
inappropriate content may be deleted.
No spoilers please!
Please don't give away any plot developments that are yet
to be broadcast in New Zealand on TV, radio or at the movies.
You are responsible for content you post
All content that you contribute to the Site is your
responsibility and is in no way endorsed by TVNZ. TVNZ is not
responsible as author, editor or publisher of any content that it
has not submitted to the Site and we expressly exclude liability
for any loss or damage arising from the use of the Site by anyone
in breach of these House Rules or our Terms of Use.
Breach of House Rules
Where we provide any interactive service as part of our
Site, we will provide clear information to you about the kind of
service offered, if it is moderated and what form of moderation is
used, depending on the risk profile of each particular site.
However, we are under no obligation to oversee, monitor or moderate
any interactive service we provide on our Site, and we expressly
exclude our liability for any loss or damage arising from the use
of any interactive service by a user in contravention of our Terms
of Use or House Rules, whether the service is moderated or not.
Where we do moderate an interactive service, we will normally
provide you with a means of contacting the moderator, should a
concern or difficulty arise.
Regardless of whether we moderate the Site or not, we reserve the right (but have no obligation) to review, edit, take down, remove, disable or delete any content and/or your account at our sole discretion if it comes to our attention that any content is potentially defamatory, inappropriate or offensive to other audience members or otherwise in breach of these House Rules, our Terms of Use or is otherwise unlawful. Where we believe there is a breach of these House Rules and/or the Terms of Use, we may take whatever action we feel is appropriate in the circumstances.
We will take down content in breach of the Terms of Use or these
House Rules within a reasonable time of being notified by email to
webmaster@tvnz.co.nz or
as a result of someone clicking on the "Report Abuse" link at the
bottom of each page.
