Michael Burgess is a sports producer at tvnz.co.nz

He has covered sports events in Europe and South America, and has been at tvnz.co.nz since 2006.

A career highlight was seeing Argentina play Brazil in Buenos Aires while covering the 2007 Rugby League Challenge Cup with Stacey Jones and the Catalans taking on St Helens at the brand new Wembley was quite unforgettable.

One of his first sporting memories was walking off Carlaw Park in 1985, almost in tears, after witnessing Kangaroo winger John Ribot steal the test and series off a brilliant but naive Kiwi side.

Michael was privileged to see icons such as Richard Hadlee, Wynton Rufer, Mark Graham and Pat Cash play live, while visits to the San Siro for the Milan derby and a pilgrimage to Anfield stand out as obvious highlights. |
