Whakatane: Sunniest place or not?

A few weeks ago, Close Up brought you the story of Whakatane's fight to be re-instated as the sunniest spot in the country. The town lost the 2008 title after it emerged their sunshine measuring equipment was a bit dodgy, so Blenheim took the number one place by default.

NIWA has since been investigating. Close Up reporter Donna-Marie Lever had a look at Blenheim's sunny side of this shady story and spoke to Whakatane mayor Colin Holmes live, while NIWA's ruling was handed down to the Whakatane District Council.
