Michelle Menken is a solo mum who works fulltime to provide for her four-year-old son, as well as studying part-time.

She says her child's father is a high earner, yet only pays $15 a week in support - and he's not alone.

There are more than 500 parents earning over $100,000 who aren't paying enough or paying their child support debts.

Close Up talks to Menken about her situation and then Mark Sainsbury speaks with revenue minister Peter Dunne to find out why Inland Revenue has allowed child support payments to spiral out of control.
