Fay and Derek Bolt - Source: Close Up

Motueka pensioners Fay and Derek Bolt are sharper than most people half their age, and just as active.

Derek has written 20,000 questions for TV quiz shows and is a mastermind champion. Meanwhile Fay has just published her first book at the age of 68.

Their motto is that life doesn't end when you retire - that's when it begins. Close Up speaks to the Bolts about their secrets to staying on top.

Derek's questions to test Close Up viewers:
What kind of fruit has the name Pink Lady?
What is the name of the Johannesburg stadium where the Soccer World Cup final was played earlier this year?
A dromedary is a camel with one hump - what is the name of the camel with two humps?
Which famous character lived at 221B Baker Street?
Four species of which New Zealand bird have recently been given United States Endangered Species protection?
