Internet predator's prey

A Close Up expose of men preying on young girls online disturbed and shocked many viewers, and there were some who simply couldn't believe that teenage girls would put themselves in such vulnerable positions.

It rang true for Jonelle McIsaac though, who tells Close Up her experience as a teenager online, an experience she says will never leave her.

Close Up also talks to Annette Mulligan from INP Medical Services in Nelson which helps victims of sexual assault.

Shameful abuse

A nine-year-old girl found hiding in a cupboard in her home, starving, dehydrated, with broken bones. She was a child tortured by her parents in a case so shocking it prompted a ministerial inquiry.

Today her father was jailed for three years for his part, and her mother is already behind bars.

Close Up looks into the case and asks Social Development Minister Paula Bennett how she's making sure this never happens again.
