Liquor stores swamp communities
While MPs have voted to keep the drinking age at 18, there are alcohol issues in the suburbs - particularly in communities which feel they are swamped by liquor stores.
In the primarily residential Auckland area of Otara/Papatoetoe there are 41 off-licences and 58 on-licenses along with 11 clubs.
But the area's community board lost a High Court battle to stop a new bottle shop opening.

Tweet misery for Charlotte Dawson
Former Kiwi television host Charlotte Dawson is reportedly in a Sydney Hospital tonight after tweeting "hope this ends the misery ....and win" following weeks of cruel taunts on her Twitter page.
Dawson campaigns against cyber bullying by retweeting abusive posts.
She spoke to Alison Piotrowski from Australia's A Current Affair.

Prostate warning ahead of Blue September
Health professionals are urging all men to take better care of their prostate with statistics showing prostate cancer kills hundreds of Kiwis every year.
Blue September aims to raise awareness about prostate cancer - the most common cancer for men which can be caught before its fatal. But one of the checks is called a digital rectal examination.
