It is back to school this week, and part of that morning routine is getting the kids to brush their teeth. It can be a battle, but children's health experts say you will have an even bigger battle if you do not.

Half of all children under five will already have a cavity, which is becoming more and more common for dental nurses, dealing with pre-schoolers who have never had their teeth brushed.

Dr Susan Cartwright is with Close Up in the studio because she is so concerned about it. She does a bit of a demo on two children, eighteen-month-old Jack, proud owner of twenty month teeth, his three-year-old sister Emma, and their mum Caroline, who is the one charged with the daily task.
