Shaking up our drinking culture

How often have we heard it - do something about the drinking culture in this country.

Well the Law Commission has done something, coming up with a raft of recommendations to curb the problem.

Some of the more contentious ones include lowering the drink drive limit from 80 to 50 miligrams, banning those under 20 from buying alcohol unless in licenced premises and outlawing those super cheap supermarket booze deals called loss leaders.

Report author Sir Geoffrey Palmer shares his views along with Bruce Robertson from the Hospitality Association and Emma Mellow, who at 19 will be materially affected.
