As the number of unemployed continues to swell sometimes we just see numbers, statistics but within those anonymous figures is a group often forgotten.
These aren't people who have lost their jobs, these are people just starting out, looking for their first break in the workforce and the timing couldn't be worse.
In the last September quarter there were just under six thousand 18-24 year olds out of work but this year it has skyrocketed to 20,000.
A new scheme is underway to offer an alternative to veging out on the dole, to give them a shot at something they have never had before.
