Questions asked over missing yachtie

The search has been called off for Paul van Rensburg but his friends think he's alive.

How can a yacht, its skipper and his dog disappear into thin air?

This is the question being asked of officials as the search for yachtie Paul van Rensburg is suspended.

The 40-year-old left Tauranga a week ago bound for Gisborne, just before a southerly storm blew through.

He texted his girlfriend around 2pm, then vanished off the face of the earth.
