Prime suspect, now arrested

In the quiet country town of Waiau they are mourning the loss of a mother.

The prime suspect, 43-year-old Ross Simon Fraser, also known as Rosco, went bush.

Police wanted to question him about the brutal murder of his former partner over a week ago, but he gave them the slip and hightailed it into the North Canterbury hills.

Reporter Jendy Harper joined the search for a wanted man, who, as the story went to air, was arrested by police.
