The pork industry has plunged into panic as their former front man, Mike King, takes aim.

It has sent the Pork Industry Board into a panic after last night's revelations by comedian Mike King, once the front man for New Zealand Pork, that he is deeply ashamed to have promoted the product.

His issue: the farming practices and the tiny crates used to house pigs.

Last night TVNZ's Sunday programme showed Mike King secretly investigating one farm the Agriculture minister is now calling on to be investigated.

The Pork Board is in crisis mode, and has postponed Wednesday's long awaited best bacon awards.
