Pairing troubled kids with abandoned dogs

It's changed the lives of more than 50 kids - but a ground-breaking programme that pairs troubled teens with abandoned dogs is about to close.    

The Nelson Ark no longer has funding from the Ministry of Social Development, and the charitable trust says without an urgent injection of funds, today's graduation will be the last.

Corinne Ambler spent a day meeting the latest intake and their four-legged charges.

The Ministry of Social Development says the Nelson Ark has already received funding from two separate programmes - some of it on the understanding they would become self-sustaining.
