A marriage proposal by Ben Makisi presented itself in an opera-tunity too good to miss.

While marriage proposals are sometimes romantic, intimate and between the future bride and groom, that wasn't the way Makisi wanted to get things done.

On Tuesday Makisi, one of the country's best opera singers, proposed to his unsuspectng partner of four months int he middle of a show in West auckland.

Fair to say, he got an interesting reaction.
