Romance novels - they are the books where the dashing bloke gets his girl, mothers-in-law and other obstacles get in the way, but eventually they find that house with the white picket fence.

Well, New Zealand romance writers are increasingly finding their way on to the American best seller lists, and that is fuelling other budding authors to give the soppy stuff a crack.
