Mark shows Fergie his lumps

It's fair to say the Black Eyed Peas are one of the most successful hip-hop groups on the planet.

They have just made US music history with the longest successive stay at the top of the charts with 26 consecutive weeks at number one.

In New Zealand the the group is just as big. They played to a sold out crowd at the Vector Arena in Auckland.

At the forefront of their popularity is the lead singer, Fergie, who is also a successful solo artist in her own right.

Mark Sainsbury spoke to her just moments before she stepped on stage with the band.
