It's shaping as one of the weddings of the year.

Parliament's long confirmed bachelor Lockwood Smith is marrying his university sweetheart Alexandra Lang on July 4 this year.

And fittingly, given Dr Smith's 25 year association with the place, the couple will marry at parliament.

But as Michael Holland finds, Easter means another big occasion for Smith and his fiancé.
