Their gear has been strutted on the world stage to great acclaim and now one budding young designer has plans to put Kamo, near Whangarei, on the world fashion map.
At just 17, Duncan Lamont-Brown is already sewing up many design competitions, and he has his sights set on a career in London, New York and Paris.
Close Up's Robyn Janes went to meet the young designer with a lot of ambition.
