Frances Everall was likely to die at age four after being diagnosed with the worst of childhood cancers, but a rare choice by her parents managed to save her life.

When Frances was born, her mother made a unique decision to save her cord blood, a decision which has seen Frances go through an amazing recovery.

Close Up brings you the first Kiwi kid to get a lifeline from her own cord blood.
