Many rural New Zealanders are going DIY to get themselves upon the information superhighway.
Last month the government announced a one point five billion dollar plan to increase broadband speeds for 75 percent of the country
But that still leaves the remaining 25 percent in remote - and sometimes not so remote - areas, with dial-up speeds if they're lucky.
So now a group of farmers in the lower North Island have quite literally dug themselves out of the hole.
