A crowded forecourt of a petrol station is an unlikely place for domestic violence to ensue. But in this story, a man gets out of the car, goes round to his partner's side, opens her door and starts pummelling her at a petrol station. Nobody intervenes.

According to new research on domestic violence, even when women ask for help, it is frequently not given to them.
