The number of dogs on doggie death row would make you weep. In the Auckland area alone, a dog is euthanased every two hours - that's 5000 dogs a year.

Organisations like the SPCA and pounds do all they can to try and find homes for them but the sad reality is they just can't afford to save them all. This week a charitable trust will be launched to raise money to save some of those canines, and already one of our All Blacks has taken up the challenge.

Robyn Janes is with an All Black prop and some dogs dying for a home.
