Dr Andrew Greensmith stepped out of the operating theatre of a highly complicated and risky operation to talk with Close Up.

In Melbourne, three-year old sisters Trishna and Krishna conjoined at the head underwent surgery to be separated.

They were brought to Australia two years ago by a child welfare organisation in the hope that one day they'd receive the help they needed.

When Close Up spoke to Dr Greensmith, he and his medical team were 8.5 hours into the procedure at the Royal Children's Hospital in Australia.
