She's an Oscar-winning actress who has never quite fitted the Hollywood mould. Cate Blanchett might look like the classic screen siren but when it comes to choosing movie roles she prefers the path less travelled.

But now she's been given that most Hollywood of Hollywood honours, a star on the walk of fame.

Her new film, with Brad Pitt, is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, an epic time traveller's tale of a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards.

Dominic Bowden caught up with Cate and her director David Fincher in Los Angeles
