Carl Doy is a very rare kind of star for this day and age.

He's had a multi-platinum album in the US and number one hits over here. But leaf through the society pages and you'll be hard-pushed to find him featured. Even if he was, its unlikely you'd know his face.

That's quite something given he's clocked up no less than 300 recordings.

So who is the man behind all this music? As his latest album is released, Gill Higgins got a glimpse of the performer who's bucking the trend, and fending off fame.
