Aftershocks are not the only cruel jolt Cantabrians are receiving, with some now facing a similar shock from their insurance company.

AMI isn't writing any new policies for houses in Christchurch, leaving potentially hundreds of people involved in house purchases they committed to before the quake without any cover.
