Doing the washing is a fairly boring and painless chore, but not so for Mike Whittaker.

When Mike does a load of washing, his neighbours could be forgiven for thinking he is testing the jet engines of a 747, especially when the Kelvinator is on full cycle.

Now the self-employed man is at his wits end and he is selling the aggressive monster on the net and it is proving to be popular.

It has become the most viewed Trade Me auction this year. Mark Sainsbury decided to brave a meeting with the frightening beast, cleverly disguised as a home appliance.
