Aussie Idol Guy Sebastian is live but what happened to our Idols?

It's a crazy phenomenon - the Idol reality TV shows. A few weeks, a month or two of frenzied fame, the likes of which contestants have never seen and more than likely will never see again. Just a few manage to make it.

Guy Sebastian's one of them. He was the first Australian Idol winner back in 2003 and is in New Zealand to perform his latest top ten single. But while he is still going strong, unfortunately the same can't be said for our own Idols.

Six years ago Ben Lummis and Michael Murphy became household names as they battled it out to become our first New Zealand Idol. Ben won, Michael came second but what happened next?
