The country's leading addiction specialist says it's time to face up to the real scourge on New Zealand society - alcohol.
In the past couple of days, a 16-year old has been breathalysed six times over the youth alcohol limit, while two people lost their lives in this week's Hawkes Bay alcohol-vehicle tragedy.
While it appears New Zealand has become immune to these types of stories, Close Up spoke to Dr Doug Sellman, who says its time to adopt dramatic restrictions on alcohol much the same as the country has on tobacco.
