Online accounting software firm Xero has signed an agreement with UK telecommunications giant, British Telecom (BT).

The reseller agreement will see Xero offer its service to BT's 1.7 million small business customers via BT's business applications service.

Xero says it will complete integration with the BT platform over the coming months and is expected to be available from July.

The deal comes after Xero's capital raising last month to fund its expansion in the UK.

Xero's key investors include Craig Winkler, a founder and former major shareholder of Australian based accounting software company MYOB, and Trade Me founder Sam Morgan who is an independent director of Xero.
