A problem with Westpac's ATMs affecting customers' credit cards was fixed on Sunday afternoon.
Credit cards had been swallowed at Westpac ATMs and it is believed to have been due to difficulties with a computer software upgrade, Radio New Zealand reported.
A Westpac spokeswoman says the problem was fixed on Sunday afternoon.
She could not confirm that credit cards were being swallowed by the machines, but there had been customer feedback from the bank's call centres about problems with cards, she says.
