The Saint James Company, based in the United States, has entered an agreement with three New Zealand wineries to purchase capital stocks or assets.
In a company announcement, Saint James said the agreement was with Lawson Dry Hills, Waimea Estates and Gravitas Wines.
The terms of the agreement was not disclosed.
"This portfolio of New Zealand wineries and vineyards represents world class wine estates that have cumulatively won an impressive number of trophies and gold medals honouring their excellence," Saint James president Wayne Gronquist said.
The company says there is increasing global demand for New Zealand wine and it plans to import the wines into the US and UK markets.
All three wine labels are from the Marlborough region.
