A bailout of a Lane Walker Rudkin subsidiary has saved up to 40 jobs.

The takeover comes just a day after Lane Walker Rudkin laid off 42 workers from its Christchurch plant.

The company has suffered 228 redundancies since being placed in receivership earlier this year.
