Associate Finance Minister Steven Joyce will meet with Pacific leaders in the Cook Islands this week to discuss economic opportunities.
Joyce will join other Economic and Finance Ministers from across the Pacific Islands and Australia for the Pacific Forum Economic Ministers' Meeting on October 28 and 29.
Joyce says the meeting will focus on the fallout and lessons from the global economic crisis.
"It will be a good chance to share our experiences of responding to the global economic crisis and discuss development within the region," Joyce says.
The ministers will also discuss the rebuilding of Pacific Villages following the tsunami which affected Samoa and Tonga at the end of September.
