It's been a long time coming but the big yellow shed will open on Auckland's North Shore on Sunday.
Supermarket giant Foodstuffs have battled its rival for 20 years to open a Pak'nSave on Wairau Road.
The saga began when Progressive Enterprises went to the High Court to overturn consent for the building.
Foodstuffs spokeswoman Angela Bull says it has been a long process since the site was bought in 1989.
She says construction itself was finished four years ago but the supermarket has been sitting empty until now.
Bull says the supermarket opening has created 300 new jobs.
