Huljich Wealth Management has appointed David McEwen as a new external consultant to its investment team.
McEwen is currently Chief Investment Officer for the Investment Research Group where he oversees research and commentary on 400 companies, sits on the company's investment committee, researches and writes a weekly investment report and manages the Australasian equities component of client portfolios.
He is a qualified securities analyst.
Director Don Brash took over as Huljich Wealth Management's Chief Investment Officer early in March, after Peter Huljich resigned following an admission that he twice used his own money to top up the company's KiwiSaver scheme.
"I welcome Mr McEwen to the team and look forward to working alongside him. He is well regarded in the industry and will provide added strength to our investment team," says Brash.
As part of a Securities Commission probe, Huljich had to rewrite its investor statements for retirement fund returns after previous returns did not show that he had made two personal payments totalling $150,000 in periods ending March 2008 and March 2009 as compensation for investment decisions he made.
