After 104 years Christchurch's iconic Lane Walker Rudkin factory has stitched its last garment.
On Tuesday morning the Christchurch factory's remaining 80 employees received their final redundancy payments.
Former employee Danny Kavanagh says it has been quite emotional as a lot of people have been there for a long time.
Lanne Walker Rudkin was owned by Christchurch businessman Ken Anderson when it was placed in receivership in April, owing $120 million.
At its peak it had employed over 3,000 people and many of those stayed for decades.
Tuesday was the third round of redundancies at the factory with those leaving on Tuesday being the last.
By 11am the workers were done for the day, done forever, leaving with redundancy payments capped at just over $16,000.
A skeleton crew has now been appointed to maintain the workshop until the receivers can sell of this equipment.
