Burying Brian is produced by Julie Christie and Robin Scholes. Julie shares her thoughts on producing TV ONE's new drama.
The differences between unscripted and drama were not as great as I thought.
Although the production processes are very different, the creative process is relatively similar in that you need to develop a good story, keep the viewer engaged, promise more twists and turns to come... The main thing I learned was to go with my gut instinct - whatever the genre!
We always aim for the broadest, and largest, possible audience our shows so I wanted something that had real commerical appeal, was not niche, could command a primetime slot and compete with hugely successful US dramas.
I felt Burying Brian could do that.
