Interview with Rebecca Hobbs
Rebecca Hobbs hails from one of New Zealand's most prominent
acting families (sister Katrina and brother Christopher are both
actors). Rebecca dishes the dirt on the more painful aspect of
Burying Brian - her enormous padded bra....
What appealed to you about your Burying Brian role - why
did you want to take this job, playing this character?
I would have happily played any of the characters - in fact, I auditioned for Denise (please let that tape have been destroyed), but Gerri's dry sense of humour really appealed to me, and her enormous fake boobs, of course.
What was the single-most enjoyable thing about working on Burying Brian?
The girls, the girls, the girls! Everyone in the cast and crew
were fantastic, but the four of us really bonded.
Julie (Christie) had us over to her house for drinks before we
started shooting, we drank champagne till the early hours and told
each other our secrets - that cemented it for all of us.
What was the most challenging thing about working on Burying Brian?
Gerri's mega boobs! At first I (and many important people in
charge) feared that turning my A cup into a DD would prove an
impossible task.
But Julie (Christie) and Bob (our fantastic wardrobe diva/designer
who has experience queening) created the most epic padded bra known
to man.
At times it was really painful, in order to create the cleavage we
had to pull the straps unbelievably tight - we almost drew blood on
my shoulders one day - but it was worth it.
Mind you, as all the other girls have naturally substantial assets,
Gerri's knockers really don't stand out that much!
