Interview with Carrie McLaughlin
Dancer, actor and sound guru Carrie McLaughlin lets us in on
some secrets behind
Burying Brian.
What appealed to you about your Burying Brian role - why
did you want to take this job, playing this character?
I loved the fact she was one of four female '30 something' leads
on a primetime TV series, that doesn't happen very often.
Theresa had a really interesting personal character development and
story alongside her involvement with the main story line of events
that make up the hilarious journey of Burying Brian.
I loved the scripts, the directors and the incredible line-up of
exceptional New Zealand actors, it was an honour to work along side
such people
What was the single-most enjoyable thing about working on Burying Brian?
The people. Jodie, Rebecca, Ingrid and I connected and bonded
immediately, but that filtered down to the crew on set, the amazing
wardrobe and make-up teams and everyone in production.
It was a really special group of people, working on a great
project!
What was the most challenging thing about working on Burying Brian?
Being away from family and friends in Wellington, but the upside
was that I could be open and available to the new friends I made on
the job and completely focused on the task at hand.
But ultimately the greatest challenges are where you are going to
learn and grow the most so you have to meet any challenge head
on.
