The Budget makes provision for investment in New Zealand's arts, culture and heritage.
Te Papa will get an additional baseline funding of $12 million over four years.
The museum, which celebrated a decade in business this year, has been the most visited museum and gallery in Australasia for the past five years.
Maori cultural events in Wellington will also get a boost, with $7 million to support the establishment of a Wharewaka on the waterfront near Te Papa.
And, as well as investing in the promotion of Maori culture, Budget 2008 will provide $1.4 million to preserve historical records and $2.7 million over four years to access and preserve physical records.
Our active film making community gets a boost, with an extra $27.8 million over four years going to the New Zealand Film Commission. The commission will administer a new Screen Production Incentive Fund for New Zealand films and television productions.
And, while we celebrate New Zealand Music Month in May, the Budget sets aside extra funding of $4.8 million over four years for the promotion of Kiwi music through the NZ Music Commission.

Radio New Zealand will receive $10.9 million over four years to maintain its core services.
Extra baseline funding over four years for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
An extra $2 million for the New Zealand Author's fund, over four years.
And $7.7 million over four years to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
