Kaiteriteri is a mecca for South Islanders over the summer months, and it was nice to be there when the beach wasn't so full!

What few locals there were around were really obliging and happy to help out at the drop of the hat.

It wins the award, so far, for the best turnout and best view.

Because the views were amazing, the sand is actually golden, the sea is a clear green and its got a really laid-back beach town feel to it. No wonder the Cantabs love it up. 

The highlight of the morning was the kayak race that we did. Check out the video to see how that panned out. It was cool!

Pushing on, we're backtracking to Nelson.
