Ultrasonic Cleaner
Price: $139
Product website
Rating: 4/5
Like a Leatherman, a battery charger, and tiny screwdrivers, every
good geek should have an ultrasonic cleaner. It does an amazing job
of cleaning glasses, watches, and other jewelery. You can also use
larger models to clean car parts and anything else you can fit into
it.
Item: Radio Control Helicopter (and Forklift)
Price: $209 and $59
Product website
Rating: 5/5
Fantastic fun and really easy to use. What big kid doesn't want to
fly a helicopter around their lounge? The forklift is great to have
on the desk at work. Move some pallets around when you need a break
from programming or wordprocessing.
Item: Apple iPod Shuffle 4GB
Price: $155
Product website
Rating: 3/5
Gorgeous industrial design, but is it too beautiful? Apple takes
their slimline design aesthetic to the ultimate conclusion with the
new Shuffle: there are no buttons or screens on the device at all.
Instead you control the smaller-than-thumb-sized device using
buttons on the headphone cord, and it talks to you to tell you the
names of songs and playlists. A good cheap option if you simply
must have an iPod.
