Kiwi basketball star Kirk Penney is set to give his dream of playing in the NBA one last crack.
Breakers management confirmed to ONE News that the 29-year-old
is leaving for the United States on Tuesday to play in the NBA
Development League.
The Breakers MVP for the just completed season is hoping to be
picked up by the San Antonio Spurs feeder team, the Austin
Toros.
Penney's last stint in the NBA was short-lived: he played one
game for the Miami Heat in 2003 and then four games for the LA
Clippers in 2004 before being cut.
