Kobe Bryant imposed his will with 40 points and the Los Angeles Lakers survived a nail-biting finish to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-108 on Wednesday.

With the Thunder pressing hard late in the fourth quarter, the Lakers made six straight free throws in the final 1:31 and were relieved when a potential game-tying three-point shot by Oklahoma's Russell Westbrook missed the mark in the final seconds.

All-Star guard Bryant was among six Lakers player to score in double-figures, and added eight rebounds and six assists, while surviving a scare when he came down awkwardly on his left knee late in the fourth.

Kevin Durant scored a team-high 30 points and Westbrook added 21 and 13 assists (13-14) for the Thunder, who slumped to their fifth loss in six games.
