The Boston Celtics won their ninth successive game and padded their lead in the Atlantic Division with a 104-102 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday.

Two foul shots by Ray Allen with 14 seconds left gave the Celtics a 103-100 lead.

The Wizards then missed two three-point attempts before a foul shot by centre Kendrick Perkins with five seconds remaining sealed Boston's win.

Guard Rajon Rondo scored a team high 21 points for Boston and made a team-leading 11 assists. Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points for the Wizards.

Boston (18-4) has a nine-game lead over the second-place Toronto Raptors in the division.
