Breakers get pre-Christmas boost

The Breakers received the pre-Christmas boost their season needed with an incredible come from behind win over the Adelaide 36ers at the Brett Maher Court on Saturday night, the perfect tonic before their final home game of 2009 at the North Shore Events Centre this Thursday night.

In a complete reversal of last Thursday's performance against Perth, the Breakers turned around significant deficit, rattling in 33 points in the final quarter to earn just their second win in Adelaide, 92-85.

Here are some stats from the impressive win, one that keeps the Breakers right in the playoff mix.

Rick Rickert led the Breakers with a season best 22 points and added a game high seven rebounds.

Kirk Penney was prominent again with 19 points including some crucial baskets in the final minutes to keep the Breakers clear.

Point guard CJ Bruton contributed 14 points and dished off seven assists.

Tony Ronaldson with11 points registered 900 points for the Breakers (9th all time).

Breakers back home

The Breakers return home this Thursday night against the fourth placed Townsville Crocodiles. The Breakers have defeated the Crocs twice this season and hold an overall home record of six wins, five defeats against John Rillies' former club.

Oscar Forman playing his 115th consecutive game needs three points to reach 1200 points for the club at 10.5 ppg and Paul Henre in his 205th game needs five points to reach the same milestone.

Rick Rickert requires a single assist to bring up a century of assists for the club and 16 points to rack up 900 points for the club in his 50th consecutive game since returning to the Breakers following back surgery.

Dillon Boucher also plays his 50th consecutive game and requires a single point to record 900 ANBL points in his 215th league appearance.

Tony Ronaldson needs five assists for 1800 career assists at 2.7apg.
